About Us
Living myth-makers of the Isle of Wight
Somewhen Productions is an arts organisation dedicated to creating world-class immersive culture specifically for the Isle of Wight community. We operate through our creative collective, The Somewhen Survival Society, a fictional-but-lived entity making work rooted in the Island's landscape. As living myth-makers, we are dedicated to revitalising rural culture and combating rural isolation through theatrical storytelling, local folklore, and immersive arts events. Our work fosters place-pride and connects residents across generations.
Although The Somewhen Survival Society was formally established in December 2025, our achievements are built upon the deep professional roots and local impact of our leadership team. Lead artists Samuel Wyer (Olivier-nominated designer) and Clementine Seely (international creative producer) delivered the “utterly charming” Forest Fables at Mottistone Manor, a sold-out partnership with the National Trust that provided a vital, COVID-secure immersive experience for the Island in 2020. Our designer, Sean Turner, has been equally instrumental in the Island's creative infrastructure through his work with The Department in Ryde and the Horsebox Theatre Company. This collective artistry is balanced by the strategic leadership of Peter Higgin, an Isle of Wight native and former Director of the world-renowned Punchdrunk Enrichment, Pete now serves as Chair of Governors for The Cornerstone Federation and Chair of the Board for Ventnor Exchange, while remaining deeply rooted in the community as a coach for Ventnor Youth FC.
The Can You Hear Us? Festival has brought us together to create this new theatre company. By transitioning from individual practices to a unified collective, we hope to achieve a streamlined mission: to deliver world-class, site-specific storytelling that celebrates local folklore and landscape, ensuring that rural communities remain at the heart of the Island's cultural narrative.
